Member Spotlight: Brittney Lunsford
Many of you know Brittney, as she is an active member of MVHRA and is the Chair of the MVHRA 100 Year Celebration committee. And most of you also probably know that she currently works for Dayton Children’s Hospital as a Learning and Development Coordinator. In her role at Dayton Children’s Hospital, Brittney is responsible for planning and facilitating new hire orientation. She also assists with course development and facilitation for staff and leaders based on need. She currently is working on creating new leader training in regards to Interviewing, Hiring, Onboarding and Leaves of Absence. But what you may not know is that while Brittney takes on these roles in her career and in the MVHRA, Brittney is also continuing to pursue her Master’s Degree in Human Resources and Employee Relations with a focus on employment law from Penn State University and is studying to take the SHRM-SCP exam this July.
While this may all seem to be more than any one person can handle, Brittney succeeds in all of these roles and does so with a love for her work. She particularly enjoys being able to partner with and teach employees and leaders at all levels to provide them with the skills and confidence to be great. She loves working at Dayton Children’s because she knows that Dayton Children’s makes such a profound impact on the kids and families in the Dayton region. At MVHRA, we are also very lucky for the profound impact Brittney makes in our organization.
When she is not busy working and volunteering her time, she also enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, dogs Tucker (5 year old Golden Retriever) and Mia (1 ½ year old mini Australian Shepherd) and attending hockey games, kayaking, reading and traveling.

Session Description: SHRM designed this workshop to give HR practitioners a basic understanding of HR Analytics. During this workshop, participants will learn the basic concept of HR Analytics, its importance to HR and business, what HR Analytics is designed to address and how to establish an analytics function within an HR department. The goal for this workshop is to help reduce HR practitioner apprehension of analytics and set the foundation for broader and more effective use of analytics across the HR field.
Speaker Bio: Kay holds a graduate degree in Management and an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies focused on Psychology, Communications, and Business. Having worked in the Human Resources profession for 27 years, she has gained experience in many HR functions. She obtained HRCI’s Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in 2004 and SHRM’s Certified Professional (CP) certification in 2015. She is dedicated to helping people understand themselves better through their employment experiences. She recently stepped away from full-time employment and is enjoying being semi-retired.
