The cornerstone concept is that great leaders, like great dogs, exhibit four key traits: they are faithful to their pack, inspirational to their teammates, determined to succeed and observant of their surroundings. By drilling down into each "FIDO factor" you'll discover new ways to upgrade your leadership quotient, including:

  • How an "I've got your tail" attitude builds trust
  • What great leaders of the pack do

Luncheon: Creating a Culture of Civility in the Workplace

Speaker: Marcus S. Nagy, Ph.D.

Location: Sinclair Community College

Time: 11:15 AM - 11:30 AM: Registration & Networking

11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Announcements & Lunch

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Speaker

This presentation will introduce the notion of civility in the workplace and how creating a culture of civility can increase respect for all employees within a workgroup. In doing so, acceptance and inclusion will be enhanced for all members of the workgroup, regardless of sex, race, religion, or any other protected group. Hence, civility is more than a diversity initiative that often focuses on only one protected group. In addition, it will be argued that increasing civility will result in fewer claims of sexual harassment while also reducing organizational costs associated with absenteeism and turnover, and increasing job satisfaction and performance. Finally, steps that can be taken to build a culture of civility in the workplace will be presented.
